Where the Aljezur stream opens into a salt marsh, Praia da Amoreira is framed by a black cliff resembling a giant lying on the sea and a fossilized dune across the valley. Its vast sandy expanse effectively creates two beaches in one: facing the ocean with calm, safe lagoons perfect for children, or along the river, nestled in the shade of the slopes.
