Alcoutim Castle

Built in the 14th century to defend this border along the Guadiana River, it offers views of the Spanish town of Sanlúcar on the opposite bank. Inside, the Archaeological Museum houses the largest collection of Islamic board games found in a single site in Portugal, including the only known examples of Mancala III.
