Fortaleza de Sagres

Linked to Prince Henry the Navigator, who lived and died here in 1460, it was rebuilt throughout the 16th and 18th centuries following the Vauban defensive system. Inside, you'll find the famous 'wind rose' — a sundial many believe to be contemporary with the Prince himself.
